A commitment ceremony is a meaningful and dignified ceremony which is very similar to a wedding ceremony. The difference is that it is not currently a legally binding ceremony, but it is a public affirmation of a couple’s commitment to one another.

The ceremony may be religious or secular, traditional or loosely structured. The make up of the ceremony will depend on your own personal preferences. Every commitment ceremony is unique, yet it generally works within a ceremony framework. You may select specific poems or readings that hold special meaning for you, and thus creating a shared experience that you and your partner will treasure always.

A Renewal Ceremony is generally associated with a special wedding anniversary. You can be married as little as 10 years or as much as 50 years, or more. There is no legal significance to this service, but it is a way a couple may choose to celebrate in front of family and friends, expressing their continued love and devotion to each other. You can use your imagination to plan this low-stress celebration of love. The ceremony can follow much the same form as a marriage ceremony. I can design a unique celebration or it can be put together by you. Some couples choose a theme for their service. For example for those who have been together over a decade, you can choose to recreate the decade you were married in utilizing music from that time. If you choose you can duplicate your original ceremony, having the original best man or bridesmaid as a witness, or even having the bride wear her original gown. You can use your original wedding bands, or use an anniversary type band. If you wish, your children or grandchildren can be a part of the ceremony. Together we will create an appropriate event that you and all your guests will remember forever. This type of ceremony is also suitable for married couples who, after separation, are reunited.
