1. Can you combine any two faiths into a single ceremony?
My specialty is in the merging of two faiths in a single ceremony. All faiths are welcome. There is no right or wrong way to intertwine religious beliefs. It is based on the specific wishes of the couple. Generally, couples who use my services would just like to touch upon the traditions of each religion and are fairly reformed in their beliefs. I blend together the bride and groom’s ideas so that both sides are comfortable.2. How long does it take to get a certified copy of the marriage license?
Generally speaking if you send in your request with the original marriage certificate, which is what I recommend. You will receive your certified copy (ies) within 6 weeks. If you do not send in a request at the time that you send in the original license, you must wait 6 to 8 weeks before you can even request a certified copy. If you do not request a certified copy at all, the only copy you will get is your “customer copy” at the time of the ceremony. The “customer copy” is not a certified copy of your license.3. Who takes care of sending in the record of marriage to the Registrar Recorder/County Clerks office?
This is the responsibility of the minister, or whoever is performing the ceremony. The Registrar’s office gives you an addressed envelope at the time that you receive your paperwork. That envelope is given to the minister, along with the original signed marriage certificate, a request for certified copies and a check made out to the “Registrar Recorder/County Clerk” for $13.00 per certified copy. The minister puts all the information into the envelope and mails it out after the ceremony.4. At what point are you considered legally married?
For a confidential marriage license, once the minister has signed the certificate after the ceremony, you are officially married. For a non-confidential marriage license, once the minister and one witness have signed the certificate after the ceremony, you are officially married. There is space for two witnesses on the certificate, but only one is required by law. Legally, there must be a ceremony and the forms may not be signed by the minister until after the ceremony is complete.5. What is a Confidential Marriage License?
A confidential marriage license is just a legal as a non-confidential marriage license. If you are a Notary Public , have taken a course and have been approved by the Registrar Recorder/County Clerks office in the county that the wedding is taking place, you may issue a confidential marriage license. What this means is that the marriage record is not available for public viewing. Only the spouses can request a copy of this license. Many celebrities request confidential licenses so that they can keep their information private.
